Katsuki Hasegawa, only son of Kaede Hasegawa and...That one guy whose last name was Hasegawa? Seriously, even to this day, his mother does not want to tell him anything about his father. The extensive research Katsuki's doing is not helping him one bit either. Both of his grandparents from his mother's side are dead and, if he knew his father's parents, do you think he'd still be looking for him?
Yeah, he knows his father is an asshole for leaving them - He's more than sure of it -, but that feeling of curiosity is just enough for him to want to keep looking. Maybe if his mother hadn't hidden it like that from the very beginning, it would've been easier for Katsuki to accept it, but like this, it's all a mystery. He even tried going through his mother's stuff one day, but it was pointless. She had no pictures, no memories - heck, there wasn't even a fucking message! All that he knows is that, one day, he will find his father and he will ask for explanations. If his mother doesn't give them to him, so be it; He'll keep looking until he finds him.
Well, since he's kind of a third year at Ouran Academy, he doesn't really have enough time to do anything - He's there on a scholarship, since a single mother can't really afford too much stuff. So of course that most of his time is taken up by studying and his writing for the school's newspaper, but the times when he can lay around are usually filled with aimless searches for his father's identity.
No, his father is clearly not dead - Else he'd have known by now. His mother is a respectuous person who wouldn't have gotten rid of everything that used to belong to someone dead. He's obviously alive, but where is he? And if he actually finds him, will he actually have the courage to approach him? Probably not, but hope still remains. Even if, in the end, he doesn't find anyone, he'll know he'd tried his best. If his father still cannot be found, then so be it.
