HISTORY
Your average, run-of-the-mill fifteen year old boy, Cain's life has been anything but special thus far. Born from an affair, Cain does not have the best relationship with his dad, making a point only to see him on birthdays or when he's strapped for cash. After knocking up his mother, his father abandoned their family for another when Cain is only two and a half. This heartbreak serves Cain as a constant source of resentment towards his dad and the children of his father's first marriage.
For years his mother struggled putting him through school without his father's support before deciding to give marriage a second shot. The man she chooses to wed, though homely and by no means successful, made good wages and was willing to take in her kid. The two have a quiet ceremony in late autumn after Cain turns nine.
When he's eleven Cain takes an interest in street performance so his mother signs him up for a summer circus school for kids. For three months he lived with his uncle and aunt, and when he got back he had a new found passion for performing arts. Whether it was singing, dancing, juggling, tightrope, or acrobatics; you name it, he did it. Though he refused to take formal classes again out of consideration of the costs, Cain continued to practice in secret and performed on the streets whenever there was a chance.
Eventually this love for performance leads him straight to the doors of Augustin Academy. While he barely had the grades to get into public school, let alone somewhere as high-level as Augustin, they had a special fully-paid scholarship for students interested in performing arts. After insistent applications and requests, Cain earns himself a spot on the scholarship list.
Though he would have preferred a co-ed school, Augustin was the most reasonable choice. Not only was tuition free with the scholarship, but with his stepdad working in Tokyo, and his mother teaching piano full-time it was up to him to take care of his new baby sister, Nina, and Augustin was closest to her daycare.
After being at Augustin for just a short time, one thing has lead to another (or rather, he needed a club credit and none of the performing arts clubs were active) and Cain ended up a member of the Augustin host club. Though popular with customers, his attendance for club meetings is spectacularly low though, as he's more concerned with picking up his little sister than flirting with other guys.
