◄ IT'S OKAY IF YOU FORGET ME ”Atchu!”
The sneeze came out as a sort of inaudible noise; softer than a baby's coo and only loud enough for dogs to hear. Ripping a tissue from out of the box, Tsubaki scrunched up her nose and blew into it as hard as she could, providing less than satisfactory results.
It was pathetic to the point of being almost comic her current state. After sneaking away for lunch and third block the other day, Tsubaki had come down with a cold in the middle of the night. Having slept through her morning classes, the only ones that mattered, Tsubaki opted instead to take the day off and have someone deliver what she missed to her.
Dressed in her lounge wear, a loose fitting sweater and pair of black spandex shorts, Tsubaki curled up on the couch reading her book. Though the apartment she lived in was large and modern, fitted with a fireplace and a gas burning stove, she opted out of TV since she never watched much to start. If she wanted to watch something, she could just go to the theatre, and that was her logic behind that.
Putting her story down for just one second, Tsubaki fishes through the sofa's cracks for her cellphone. She had texted Lexi earlier, but needed to remind her to pick up her things.
To: Lexi
are you still coming over?
The text message was short, simple, and sweet like all the others sent between them. Though she was more talkative in person, Tsubaki just didn't like the idea of a text. So much context could go unread, mistakes could be made, and before you know it the original content becomes lost in translation over the ridiculous thing. Just the thought of it made her pretty pink lips fold down into a frown. Breathing in a deep sigh of exhaustion, Tsubaki lets herself tip over onto a pillow before picking up her book again. Jane Austen, classic. Lexi Nero

It's a Cold Reality
and it's burning me alive Lexi went up to the last teacher of the day with the most polite smile to collect the work for her friend, who got sick as of last night. That girl was always getting into these sorts of messes since they've known one another, flirting with strangers and swimming in fountains. Why the hell would someone lie down in the middle of a fountain in December in the first place? Lexi ran her fingers through her hair in frustration, stopping in the middle of it when her hand brushed past the many piercings in her ears that hid beneath her wavy brown locks. She sighed, the brunette didn't really have a lot of room to talk herself, they were both pretty messed up, otherwise they would have never even met. Of course, she kept her guard up, but Tsubaki's the first person besides her bandmates and her brother to get this far.
A sudden buzz from her phone broke her train of thought and caused her to discreetly retrieve the phone from the outer thigh, seeing as this school didn't think to put pocket on these already horrible uniforms. It was a text from Tsubaki, speak of the devil. Lexi typed out a quick and simple yes, like they usually did with one another. It's not that they didn't like each other, they just spoke better face to face.
She walked out of the school with a quick note to her colleague in the Music club that she was going to be absent. John, her older brother, had arrived a little while ago and was the bright red cliche convertible among the limos. He was always so flamboyant, she sighed and put her clarinet and guitar in the back, telling him the situation and asking for a ride. He, of course, obliged and Drove her over to Tsubaki's apartment, which was still in walking distance from her and her brother's villa here. She walked up to the mic and pressed the letter for her friend's apartment "Hey, it's me. I have your homework and food." She spoke into the box, putting her stuff down and putting her hair up as she waited or a response.

◄ IT'S OKAY IF YOU FORGET ME “Hey, it's me I have your homework and food.”
Half asleep, now sprawled out like the hot mess that she was, Tsubaki sprang forward at the mention of food. ”Coming~” she called out, despite knowing that no one would hear. Dropping her book, Tsubaki lurched over to the buzzer, ringing her friend in. Lexi was someone she had met early in her high school days, back when they were both attending Lobelia. Both so called trouble students, they were both expelled around the same time, so it just made sense for them to be close.
”Miss me?” Tsubaki greeted in a low rasp when Lexi came to her door. Oh, her voice was terrible. Clearing her throat, she pulled the door open wide to allow the other girl in. ”I'll make brew you some tea. Sit wherever you want.”
As Tsubaki heads into the kitchen to get the kettle started, she allows her friend to peruse her living room as much as she pleases. Leaning against her counter, she looked over at Lexi from the short pony wall that separated the rooms. ”So, how was school today?” Tsubaki asked, not too concerned about her answer. It was just something to get the conversation going, and she was sure Lexi was tons more concerned about what she was doing in a fountain yesterday. Lexi Nero

and it's burning me alive Lexi walked in with a quick hello to the custodian working on the hallway and hopped in the elevator. She was a little annoyed at the way the uniform was suffocating her, so she was probably going to change when she got up there. She remembered the list obviously and gently swung the bag back and forth with her legs as the elevator reached the floor desired. Walking up to Tsubaki's door she knocked and was quickly greeted by her sickly friend. "Miss me?" The girl asked in a raspy voice.
Lexi rolled her eyes and posed dramatically, "Oh, it was miserable without you~" she cried sarcastically, ending with a small smirk. She took her shoes off and walked in after her friend, placing the stuff on the table near the couch. She almost tried to assist Tsubaki with the tea when she mentioned it, but she knew her friend much preferred to be independent so she kept her space.
"So how was school today?" Tsubaki asked nonchalantly, making Lexi raise an eyebrow. She had bigger fish to fry, like what Tsubaki was doing in that fountain. If no one was going to scold her about it then it'd have to be her.
"It was fine, same old school," She replied, eyeing the book on the coffee table and nodding in approval. getting up and leaning over the pony table with a teasing smile she finally asked, "So what convinced you to go into that fountain anyways? And where did you get that towel in fourth period?" She was very curious as to who gave it to her, or if she just took it, which was common for her.
